Routing cables through pedestal

posted 06-01-2014 by Albert Fischer

An inspection port is opened at the base of the pedestal.
Cables are brought up through a PVC pipe in the pedestal to keep them away from the steering mechanism. One wire is for the compass light, another for a socket to plug in the GPS, and another is the power for the Raymarine autopilot. Drilled through pedestal to route the cable for the GPS plug-in.

Cables go to the battery through a sealed thru-hull opening in the transom right behind the support where the outboard motor is mounted. A Cabelas covered plug-in for the motor can also be seen in last slide next to the sealed thru-hull passage for the cables, which are shrouded in bellows-type cable wrap.
