v-berth

posted 10-07-2008 by Jeff Prideaux

I used a variation on the plans that Hunter provided for the v-berth. Thanks to Arthur Sumerlin for providing them to me (along with his measurements)!!! I decided to make a shorter v-berth (both sides the same shorter length) than what the plans called for. I figured if I wanted the extra length, I could jerry-rig up a seperate board for the extra length on one of the sides.

The plan

This shows the top support for the main boards. This board also provides the lip for the removable pannels to gain access to the storage area.

This shows some of the boards in place that provide the center and edge support.

This shows the v-berth being used (in my drive-way anyway). There is now plenty of room for my two kids.
