installing swim ladder on H216

posted 10-07-2008 by Jeff Prideaux

A view of the 2-step swim ladder in the down position. It is well to the side of the motor.

This shows the spacers used to make the swim ladder level. Each mounting bracket of the swim ladder had two holes. the mounting bracket was too short, though, to mount directly to the swim step. I used an extra piece of metal to attach it to the swim step.

This shows the top view. 6 bolts were used. 4 of them went into the swim step of the boat and two just attached the swim ladder bracket to the extra piece of metal. If I had it to do over again, I probably would have used thicker, wider, longer pieces of metal. They do flex a bit when I place my weight on the ladder (although it is probably OK).

This shows the 4 bolts going inside the swim step of the boat with nice big backing plates for support. I could of had an extra inch (or two) of separation between the holes for less stress...
