Building interior wood - better pictures

posted 10-07-2008 by Steven Gully

When I bought the boat the outside was in good shape but the interior had been striped and no one knew where it was. It had been on the trailer for 5 years. Thanks for your pictures. I used them to help guide me in what and how to build it

Another interior picture

I used half inch mahogony for the bulkhead. It was stained, sealed, and 3 coats of Marine Polly. Everything else is Oak. The floor was a problem. I may replace in a few years with Teak and Holly but for now it is oak ply. I stained, sealed, and one coat of polly. Then I used painters (blue tape) spaced 3/4 inches apart. Mixed some sand with some polly and applied taking the tape off before it dried. Then another coat of polly over everything. Yes the Table was built from scratch also oak. Sides are 1/2 inch mahogany.

Interior finished

The back stay goes through the middle.
