I couldnt find any ideal spot for the panel but this is what I decided on. Mounted like this the 50W panel is out of the way when sailing and not shaded. Has anyone of you found a better location?

The panel in vertical position

Two hinges were attached to the aluminum frame of the panel and thereafter fastened to the pushpit. Electrical wiring is still partly external and submerges through the hatch covering the port storage. When I mobilise more courage I will drill a hole through the hull for the cable next to the base of the arch. A regulator is mounted close to the battery box.

The panel can easily be tilted to a horizontal position to attract more sunlight.
