See HC50 at Hunter dock in Alachua Florida

Thanks to Jim Bohart, one of the project leaders on Hunters new HC50, the first published photos of Hunters newest, and possibly. most extreme model yet. How new are they? The boat was splashed Monday morning, September 27!

See Stern view

The stern view shows the gull-wing cockpit locker open, a newly designed arch, tripod mast and fixed boom.

See Broadside view

Broadside view shows a nice shear line.

See View of the bow

A view back to the bow demonstrates the fine entry and flared hull.

See Base of mast

Well get more detail on this later today: the base of the mast indicates the lines are led aft using a simple, foolproof fairlead. The winch you see in the deck is actually the anchor windlass! The chain falls down a hauser into storage below the sole, keeping the weight of the chain both low, and more importantly, at midship.

See Cockpit

A good view of the cockpit. Cockpit seats have teak benchtops to keep crew dry. Here, Steve Pettingill (green shirt) checks load-bearing properties of the arch.
