Splashing a 320

posted 02-12-2009 by Bruce Grant

Due to the lake being down around 6 ~ 9 feet, we couldnt trailer the boat in as is normal.

So this crane was rented to do the work.

Due to cost, 4 boats were put into the lake and 2 came out, took about 4 hours to do all six boats.

So what does it take to lift a 32 foot boat

This is just to show how small the boat looks compared to the crane.

Its all a matter of perspective

Everyone is counting fingers to make sure that all is intact

Just about ready to lift

I wonder what the results would have been if they had me connected for a stress test at this time

Dont Drop it

How deep is that water?

Almost there

What do you mean its stuck?

Oh, you were joking, that wasnt funny!

Isnt that pretty, I hope they all look like that.

This is what a normal upper spreader looks like

The ball on the crane ended up pinching the spreader.

Is it supposed to look like that?

The new spreader was shipped in the next day and immediately replaced.

I was given the damaged spreader, I may turn it into a trophy for the sailing club, most damage in one race or something like that.

She is in the water, sails beautifully and only took about 10 years off of my life watching her go in.

Life is good! (and this is 6 days after she went into the water)

Should I turn it into a Tropy?
