26.5 Bimini

posted 10-07-2008 by Bill Carrothers

In order to give us at least 511 clearance, we raised the boom approximately 1 foot. We took the extra canvas out of the top of the main sail.

Raise the boom

We have plenty of unobstructed vision.

The front of the bimini gives you plenty of room to go up and down from below.

Plenty of exit room

You can see the boom clears the bimini by a couple of inches. You can also see the backstay going through the holes of the bimini.

Boom and backstay clearance

We sail in really intense heat during the summer and this bimini made all the difference in the world. Bartlett Sails custom made it for us and it was expensive but worth every penny in comfort and enjoyment during those hot months.
