Radar Monitor at Cockpit

posted 10-07-2008 by Anthony Zogheib

I purchased a NavPod, pre-cut. I bent the stainless steel pipe about 30 degrees to match the inclination of the instruments below (dont try to bent it yourself - take it to a specialty shop). Also, notice the compass at the top - I used to have a GPS unit which had required drilling holes. It was a creative solution to cover the holes.

Radar Monitor Upgrade

I believe this is by far the best configuration possible for the Hunter 40.5. Also, I placed the Wind and Auto Pilot instruments next to the radar monitor. A quick note - this unit is a combo radar/chart plotter; there were several cables to run through the pipe. One pipe - the radar scanner/antenna, I was unable to run through. Since it is white in color, I decided to run it along the back side of the Navpod unit. If interested, please send me an email, Ill be glad to send a picture of the back side of the cockpit.
