Original Installation

The shackle on the anchor is wider that the space between the two plates on each side of the small roller. This required reaching overboard and lifting the anchor over the top with arms extended. This was something my manual windlass (wife) couldn’t handle.

Problem

2 plates, 3/16 stainless $151.34. I used a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to trace the outline and existing holes on the orginal brackets installed on the boat. I also traced an outline of the anchor. With the two tracings, I determined how far out I needed to place the new roller. I had a local Stainless Steel fabrication shop make the plates for me. 1 5 inch boat trailor roller about $7.00. 1 roller shaft about $12.00. 1/2 inch stainless tubing plus 5/16 bolt, washer

Parts - Total cost about $200.00

The roller has about 1/4 inch play on each side. It slides back and forth on the shaft and self aligns or positions itself depending on the angle of the anchor rode.
