Custom Bimini

posted 10-07-2008 by Keith Stone

As you know, the 37 boom is rather low and the traveler is not easy for connecting the aft and forward bimini. The boom was raised ~6 inches to allow a six foot sailor to stand underneath. A connector was added and now it seems like another room was added. The result was plenty of room to stand under and effectively a 12 foot bimini.

The didger is California style with five curtains (not shown).

Bimini is wide and covers well for the Florida sun.

Main sheet comes through hole leather chaffing added. Everything is un-zippable and can be stowed away if needed. Both Aft and Forward Bimini fold up also as an alternative.

You can somewhat see how well it is braced
