Boat maintenance

Our Hunter 35.5 was ordered in 1991 from the factory with a special NO wood on the outside option. SS handrails on coach roof, no wood trim anywhere, plastic seat in the pulpit. Varnish is not a problem. Inside we use Seafin teak oil every other year. This is a 1.5 day job. Apply, let it penetrate for 15 minutes and wipe.
On the hull, cockpit and top side, we do light compound once every 2 years or as needed, 2 coats of wax in the spring once a year just before putting the boat in the water. As far as antilouling, the previous owner had build up so many coats (Micron CSC) that we have not put a new coat on the hull in the past 5 years and we will not do it again this year. Our boat is on Lake Champlain NY and out of the water from end October to mid May. We do everything ourself. In the spring we normally spend, my wife and I, 2 days each on this spring commissionning. Total bill including, renting the polishing machine, products, Teak oil , compound and wax is probably around 150$ plus a very nice dinner on the last day to celebrate!
