Hard to raise mainsail pt 2.
I also had difficulty raising the main on my 340, but discovered that if I release the mainsheet and the boom vang when pointing into the wind, the sail aligns itself and raises much more easily. It usually goes three quarters of the way up without the need to use a winch.
