Engine Enclosure Modification

posted 03-31-2013 by Robert Sapp

I never did like that little locker above the engine in the aft cabin. Its too small and inconveniently located to use for anything, and it robs room from the engine enclosure thats needed to be able to actually work on anything on the top of the engine. I had to rip out and replace the bulkhead on the aft side of the engine enclosure because a previous owner had ignored a rain water leak from the companionway for so long that the bulkhead rotted. When I put in the new one, I just deleted that annoying locker. Pictured you can see the new bulkhead without the locker, and several shots inside the engine compartment that shows how much room there is now to actually maintain the engine. This has made life so much simpler, and I dont miss the storage space.
