Engine/transmission access

posted 09-12-2008 by Paul

On the 1980 Hunter 33, when working on the drive shaft to change packing or whatever it is easier to get to the work if a cut is made in the port-side engine paneling. This is short cut at the bottom of the side access hatch already in the panel. With this cut made the whole panel may be removed by simply removing the screws holding it to the fiberglass. This panel is not load-bearing. After the panels removal, engine, transmission and drive shaft access is greatly improved.
