This is a photo of the original rudder post used on my 1983 h34 hull #56. Very little metal inside it. Appears the Hunter craftsmen crushed a piece of stainless tubing and welded it to the post along with a light frame.Think a rudder like this one would GO THE DISTANCE?

Although this could have been repaired Foss determined I needed a complete new rudder

If I was to have a new rudder ever made again I would pay extra and have this assembly beefed up before the foam and glass were applied.How far off shore would you go knowing this is how your rudder was made?
