Passage 45cc upgrades

posted 10-07-2008 by Stephen Ribakoff

I added fiddle rail to the aft cabin center shelf to keep things from falling out under way

Fiddle rails

another fiddle rail added to forward head

removed the range hood and added an additional shelf along with a 12 volt fan wired to the original range hood circuit. Never used the hood and sure found a way to use the extra shelf space. Not shown is a corian plate I cut to fit over the stove burners so when the stove is not used the corian can be used as a cutting board or another flat surface to prepare food. When not in use it is stored under the oven. I put small rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding out from under the oven while under sail

mounted fan in aft cabin wired to the 12 car adatper

mounted dock box behind the cockpit. Greatest addition. Good for putting dive gear, lines, shoes etc. I drilled some holes in bottom for drainage, and mounted winch holder and drink holder on both sides as well a cushion to lean against while seated. The front of the box has 2 mesh baskets attached that are used for wet gear, clothes pins a real catch all. The box is strong enough to sit on as well

We found the transom design the worst feature of the newly designed 45cc it is too narrow and dangerous to board in heavy seas or while loading groceries or exiting with dive gear. I built a swing step out of 1 1/2 teak that pivots up when not used on one side it is secured by a chain. and on the other side it reset on a cheek plate fixed to the stern. Another much need upgrade
