H26 Winter Cover Support

posted 10-07-2008 by Clarence Casper

I used five, 10 x 3/4pvc tubing, six, tee fittings, four, 90 degree fittings and four, 45 degree fittings. The completed frame mounts on four stanchions, each lower corner uses a tee and a 90 fitting, with a cut to length tube connecting the two corners. Each upper fitting uses one tee and two 45s with a length of tube connecting the two upper fittings.Four tubes connect the two lower sections to the top section.Everything is glued except fo the 4 vertical angled tubes.A line from the two foreward stanchions to the rear top fitting and one from the forward top fitting runs aft to the mast crutch stabilize the frame. the latter also supports the cover aft.

Frame raises cover, with sufficient slope to allow snow and rain to run off cover and not pool on the cover.

Looking foreward

This view shows the stabilizing lines.

Looking aft

Each of four bottom corners use one tee and one 90 fitting and rests on a stanchion.
A tube connects two corners, one for the port pair and one for the starboard pair.
