Yet another 26/260 table mod

posted 10-07-2008 by Mike Harms

We were inspired by the table modifications that Michael Scott, Chris Haake, Calvin Smith and Jimmy Harrell did. Our 1998 H260 table was too big for the salon and would NOT fit down into the molded seat frames.

The first thing we did was cut 12 off the wide end of the table, as Michael and Chris did, and re-fastened the rub strip to the table. (see their projects for details). The result was great sized table.

However the table still would not drop down to lay flat with the seats - which we wanted so people could use that area for sleeping, instead of the small foreward berth.

With a jig saw I cut out Hunters factory-installed table support (see Chriss last picture in his project) so the table would lay flat. Then I studied Calvin and Jimmys pictures and sketches and designed my own table support out of white PVC 8x1 molding board.

You can see the molding boards were cut out in pairs and then glued and screwed to each other to get the right heights. I used a jig saw to cut the curved edges.
