Storage improvement in 240

posted 10-07-2008 by Per Albinsson

We made a shelf in front and two wooden bars with textile bags for smaller things. Under the V-berth there is a huge and deep box, I made two plywood drawers mowing on AL-profiles, they are 6 inches deep and works great for clothes. In the bottom we still can put our big bags.

There is some interesting angles to optimize the size of the drawer.

At first we rebuilt the galley complete; stainless two burner stove with sink, a 14, 5 gallon water tank with electric pump and hatches in the hatch - it really works for cooking. With this functional galley and extended storage capacity we can stay away from marinas for at least a week.

Under the starboard settee I put bulkheads to divide the space in four sections; we use it for cans, potatoes and vegetables. On top of the bulkheads I put wooden rails and four plastic baskets for cereals, fruit and bread.

Here you can se the bulkheads with the rails on top.

Under the port settee I only put bulkheads in the ends and there we store wine, bowls and plates in a stand.
