ST1000 installation

posted 10-07-2008 by Wayneo F

** these are not my photos or boat !!! I hope it is OK to post them, thanks to Mark for sending to help with my installation. :)

Took 3 days to think about it and 2 hours to install. The three days thinking was worth it.

I moved mine closer to center to avoid the join, did not need extentions, either did this installation, and did not buy mount from Raymarine. Went to Homedepot and made mine from a brass nipple and chrome stub piece, $6 verses $40

Base mount: I installed mine in the same place, a bit though getting through the foam. When it is not in use for the night, etc, I leave it plugged in and just stowe it there.

Tiller mount: I did the same, but made mine out of aluminium from home depot and currently use hose clamps to make sure it is in the right spot. When not in use I lift and swing it out of the way in seconds.
