Location of boat Middle River MD
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1990
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, this has been an excellent sailboat. We have maintained her very well, and have had no major problems.
Gear that's been added Auto pilot, stereo, cruising spinnaker, fluorescent lights in cabin.
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features Very nice cruising boat; ideal for weekend or extended cruising on Chesapeake Bay. Sails well in light air.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Boat is tender and has a tendency to round up in gusts or heavy air. No other major problems. All equipment and systems working well.
Sailing characterisitcs Sails well in light air, but does not point as well as other boats (maybe shoal draft keel has something to do with this). Tends to round up into the wind in heavier air.
Motoring characterisitcs Engine is capable of moving boat at hull speed in moderate seas. Also has gotten us out of the mud several times.
Liveability Good, with lots of storage space below, and fairly roomy for 4 or 5 people.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Excellent experience with Tidewater Marina in Havre de Grace.
