Review of the Hunter 23 by Patrick Booth

Year built 1986
Location of boat Albuquerque
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? Yes
Owner bought the boat in 2004
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. It was a great starter boat. Now I am looking to find something with a swing keel and more headroom. (I am 6'3")
Gear that's been added I changed the horn cleats for a fairlead/cam cleat combo, which gave me an extra 1/2 knot, as the jib lay easier.
Structural or complex improvements no
The boat's best features
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I find the chine a bit sharp which makes it easily overpowered.
Sailing characterisitcs
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability Fine for weekends
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
