Review of the Hunter 25_73-83 by Jim Kindrick

Year built 1981
Location of boat Warroad Mn.
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 5-6
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2004
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Definately this boat has taken ALL the stupid mistakes a first timer can dish out and kept on gliding through the water
Gear that's been added lowrance GPS depthfinder netting around the lifelines
Structural or complex improvements no
The boat's best features ventilation and ease of handling
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. backing is a pain and there is NO insulation or drain plug on the icebox
Sailing characterisitcs this boat sails like a dream it has me thinking of spending the rest of my days living aboard a hunter (a tad bigger) on the ocean
Motoring characterisitcs backing is the only tough part i have a 1958 johnson 10 HP outboard and it scoots right along at 6 knots
Liveability the quarters are a little cramped with my whole family aboard but there are six of us so i guess that is to be expected
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) hunter has been AWSOME to deal with they offer info and even had an OWNERS manual for me
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Hoopers Yachts in afton minnesota is the greatest
Other comments this is my first boat and i will have sailing a part of my life forever because it has been such a wonderful experience
