Review of the Hunter 28.5 by Tom Jawor

Year built 1985
Location of boat Knoxville, TN
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, it was/is a definite fixer upper, but it is a fine sailing boat, easily singlehands, and the Yanmar diesel is great, and reasonably quiet with the water exhaust. Tracks well in reverse, very manuverable, the fin keel lets it turn on a dime.
Gear that's been added Bimini, Fishfinder, new Halyards, Grill, All new Hoses, New front hatch, New Lexan Hatchbds, New stereo, cockpit speakers, recovered cushions in cabin, new faucets, new sink in head, new formica on countertops, LED lights for interior fixtures, Full gage package for engine, New batteries, Famet furler about to go on, and hopefully new sails.
