Review of the Hunter 26 by JERRY AND LAFEISE EDWARDS

Year built 1994
Location of boat CARRABELLE, FLORIDA
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1996
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? YES I AM COMING FROM A 26 FT MACGREGORAND IT HAS QUITE A BIT MORE ROOM BUT MAYBE NOT AS FAST
Gear that's been added WIDE EYE DEPTH FINDER, COMPASS BIMINIVHF, GPS, TILLER TAMER, STERN PULPITSROD HOLDERS
Structural or complex improvements NOT REALLY
The boat's best features THE AMOUNT OF ROOM ON A TRAILERABLE 26
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. BATTERY LOCATION NEEDS TO HAVE A MORE CONVIENT WAY TO GET IT IN AND OUT. NEEDSONE MORE REEF POINT. LASTLY I WOULD LIKETO SEE THE TILLER WITH A QUICK DISCONNECT TOTO THE MOTOR.
Sailing characterisitcs A MAIN DRIVEN BOAT FOR SURE. LOVE THE TILLER LOCKING TO SOLVE THE WEATHER HELMMACGREGOR DIDN'T HAVE THAT. BUT IT ISSLOWER THAN THE MACGREGOR IN LIGHT AIR.FOUND IT A BLAST TO SAIL WITHOUT WATERIN THE BALLAST BUT YOU MUST BE CAREFUL.
Motoring characterisitcs DON'T MOTOR THAT MUCH JUST TO GET IN ANDOUT OF MARINA.
Liveability BOTH MY WIFE AND I ARE 5'5" SO IT IS GREAT FOR US
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A
