Structural or complex improvements yes, the origional mast support structure was deemed a design flaw by hunter marine and when i tried to sell her to move into a hunter 45 the buyer was advised of this fact by a hunter dealer. needlest to say we still have the 33,5. i don't regret this piece of history. it has focised our attention to the 33.5 as an ideal racing/crusing design. the racing we have proved beyond a shadow of doubt and the crusing with a draft of 4.5' and 54' clearence of the water we can go any where and do any thing we desire. we have plans that are far reaching in scope. success in reaching these will be a tridute to the fine quality of manufacturing hunter has achieved and the thorough testing we have put watercolor through to date. the mast step is as good or better than new.
The boat's best features SHE'S BEAUTIFUL
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. SEE ABOVE
Sailing characterisitcs excelent- control, response, tracking, steerage stability, speed, helm feel, and dry in 10 footers,
Motoring characterisitcs our yanmar 18 is a powerful and reliable aux. a larger hp. would be nice on some heavy weather occasions, but sertainly not necessarly.
Liveability my wife and i have lived aboard 'watercolor' for over 7 years. it is has adiquate accomidations to accomplish this task succesfully with the additions we gave it, though it's origional design could be improved for this task, i realize the primary design is not soley to this end. as a weekender or a 2 week cruiser it is ideal.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) i have and all the above is shared
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any see above
