Review of the Hunter 30_88-94 by Jim Bessinger

Year built 1990
Location of boat Chatfield, Denver Co
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2001
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Without questin, yes.
Gear that's been added Wind speed, direction ST60
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features The boat is extremely stable in high winds and very predictable. Greg Emerson at Hunter has been very helpful, even though I purchased a used boat. The room inside, especialy the aft berth is much better than anything else ive seen,
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Everything is fine
Sailing characterisitcs Here in Colorado fronts come in over the mountains quite quickly along with wind direction changing constantly and the boat does everything well.
Motoring characterisitcs Our ponds, lakes are so small, there is no need to motor, except to clear the marina.
Liveability Other than naps, havn't done that yet
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Excellent
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any I purchased this boat from Signature yachts in Seattle, and they exceeded my expectations. The same for the haul out and transportation co.
Other comments My next boat will be a Hunter.
