Review of the Hunter 27_75-84 by Paul

Year built 1980
Location of boat Great Kills Harbor, N.Y.
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2000
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes
Gear that's been added No
Structural or complex improvements NO
The boat's best features I like the size and the space you get from a Hunter
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I have the universal 8HP. I dont use it much but when I do it over heats alot and is under powered. So i use it only to get in and out of the Mariner.
Sailing characterisitcs I have sailed in all kind of weather. I have sail and owned two other hunters. A 22' and 31'my 27' that I have now is the driest in heavy weather.
Motoring characterisitcs slow
Liveability I sleep on it with my wife an two boys 7,3 years old. We have just enough room but very comfortable.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) no
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any no
Other comments When I go to buy a boat, I look at a wide variety of boats and find hunter to be the best buy out there for my needs.
