Review of the Hunter 25_73-83 by David Joyce

The boat's best features The bolted inboard flange hull-to-deck joint is far stronger than the glassed joints found in Cals and Pearsons of the same era.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The sprayed deck glass, while thick, tends to develop small surface cracks. The keel-to-hull joint is rather narrow and prone to misalignment.  
Sailing characterisitcs The boat does not stand up to the wind well and tends to have a strong weather helm. However, it is faster than an O'Day 25 and just slight slower than a Cal 25 of the same era.  
Motoring characterisitcs The prop of the outboard tends to come out of the water in moderate chop. The engine is hard to reach, but the fuel tank shelf is very strong and well designed.  
Liveability Good for that era. Too many berths for the hull length, though.

Other comments I think that the deck arrangements and hull-to-deck joints of the older boats are better than the current models. All in all, a very good boat for the money!
