Review of the Hunter 34 by Bill Kirch

Year built 1983
Location of boat Chicago
The boat is sailed on The Great Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2000
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, a lot of boat for the money.
Gear that's been added No
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features Big, lot of headroom. Sails and motors easily--feel safe even in high winds.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Nothing
Sailing characterisitcs We don't sail much and are fair weather sailors. I had a G&S Custom designed racer=30 foot prior to this boat. This one is very easy to sail.
Motoring characterisitcs I have a problem with some vibration which the yacht yard is trying to isolate.
Liveability Never slept or cooked on board.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Outstanding
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Sailboat sales in Chicago-reasonably pleasant experience.
