Lowing the motor mount

The Hunter 212 I bought was missing its motor mount so I had to build a new one. I used stanchion hardware with stainless shelf brackets for my recreation of the original fixed mount. However, I found this mount to be too high for my Evinrude 4hp Lightwin I wanted to use on the boat. I didnt want to buy a long-shaft outboard so I re-engineered the motor mount so that I could lower the motor. I didnt want the motor sticking out too far behind the boat so I first shortened the support bar moving back the flat surface I planned on mounting the adjustable motor mount (bought on ebay). After several iterations I ended up with this.

This is fully raised. Helped to get the motor out of the water.

This is fully lowered. I ended up trimming the top of the board on the adjustable motor mount to get the motor in the water a inch and a half more. The floor of the cockpit is a fare distance from the water! I am happy to report the Evinrude 4hp lightwin short shaft worked just fine even when I went forward to deal with the headsail and/or we were in wake/waves.
