335 anchor roller and fly screens.

posted 10-07-2008 by Colin Campbell

The velcro on the screen is 1/4 wide, the self adhesive velcro on the boat is 3/4 wide this prevents the velcro from being pulled off the boat.

Screen with velcro attached.

I sewed this screen together to form a small tent shape. Then used velcro in the same manner as the other screens. Looks OK, works great.

Screen in place.

I built this anchor roller out of 316 stainless. It is through bolted with the nuts located in the anchor locker. Very pleased with the results apart from I should have used a better quality horn cleat, as you can see one horn of this plastic one broke off. When I built it, I drilled a hole on the centerline for no real reason other than I thought it might be handy. I picked up a used spinnaker dead cheap the other day that hole came in real handy for securing the tack of the spinnaker.

Home built anchor roller.

I am planning on twinning this roller. I will need to cut the existing one off the base plate and move it over to do this so we will see how the time and energy hold out.
