Acugage Installed

posted 10-07-2008 by Patrick Lombard

Made a box out of starboard and pine baseboard molding stained to match woodwork. Cut out a Usection of molding on the boat and slid in the box. Each sender has 3 wires that need to be pulled back to this location along with 12 vdc postive and a ground.

Main Unit

I had removed the tank for cleaning and at that time I installed the in tank sender. When you order the sender you need to know the depth of the tank. Snake River has to custom make the sender 1 shorter than the tank depth.

Fuel Tank Sender

I went through the back hatch under the aft bunk to gain access to the fresh water tank. Two pieces of aluminum foil are contact cemented to the outside of the tank. The sender is than attached to the foil and 3 wires are run back to main unit.

Fresh Water Tank

Worked through the door under the V berth. Same install as the fresh water tank.

Waste Tank

Hook up all wires to the main unit and turned on the 5 amp breaker and it worked. The 4 little holes in the face plate are adjustment for each tank. It took me one day to install, thats not counting the making of the box for the main unit or installing the fuel sender.

It Works!
