The cockpit before we recoated.

We washed the deck, sanded it down with palm sanders, and cleaned it with Xylene.

Cockpit #2

Cabin top before we coated. We removed all of the hardware.

Cabin top

I built new grabrails. The old ones were barely bedded down and I believe a source of a mystery leak.

Fore deck before recoating

Mast step before coating. The taping was a very laborious job. I used the 2 blue tape; but would try to use 1 next time and be verycareful when applying the coat. I used a variety of jar tops and coins to get the radius on small corners. I used short, overlapping segments of tape to do the large radius.

Mast step

This is one thick coat on the cockpit and seats. Looks pretty good, but I plan to apply another coat.

Overall, I used 2-1/2 gallons. I would buy Qts next time.

1st gallon did 2 coats on the cabin top and 1st coat on the foredeck. 2nd gallon did 2nd coat on foredeck, 2 coats on walkway, and 1 thick coat on cockpit.

Cabin top after 2 coats. New dropboards. Need to replace the rest of the woodwork.

Cabin top - after #2

Nice view of the front of the cabintop after 2 coats. Note how beefy the grabrails are.
