Lee cloths can keep crew up and off the cabin sole when sleeping during off watches. The can serve the same purpose for sails and ditty bags. This picture shows the port side lee cloth and its forward attachment point. Due to the nature of the 28.5 athwart ship settee, a spanning ss line w/ rings was firmly attached to the bulkhead. Attached along their base w/ screws and cupped washers @ 8 o/c. Tested summer of 09 w/ a 250# crew member sleeping on port tack.

Both lee cloths can be unclipped when not needed and stowed beneath the settee cushions.
