Last Winters project: CabinWay Doors

I cut a pattern from cardboard to get the overall shape. The doors are made from laminated 1/4 inch oak plywood. The Plexiglas ports are sandwiched into the construction.

The door was fitted with hinges and attached for correct fit, then was cut in half down the middle.

I used a removable hinge so that it was easy to store the door below when not needed. This picture shows the overlap construction I used to keep it water tight. It was a long and difficult project, but with the doors on the boat only a day now, Im thinking it was worth it.
