I used a solar panel pole mount and attached it to the mast support pole. The bracket is very sturdy.

This bracket allows easy removal of the panel when not needed and for trailering. The only piece left installed is this small bracket.

I attached the bracket to the aluminum frame of the solar panel.

The bracket allows adjustment for several angles for better pointing at the sun.
It can swing all the way down.

I used a waterproof Cable Clam Through-Deck fitting for the cables running into the aft compartment.

The PWM charge controller is mounted inside the aft compartment on the starboard side. I installed a switch to allow disconnecting the controller from the batteries. Without a switch even with the panel not connected the controller would have lights lit indicating the charge state of the battery, which is an unnecessary draw on the batteries.
