Five years ago Hunter Marine, at that time, had a staysail chainplate kit for $250 that mounts to the aft anchor locker bulkhead. Our mast had everything ready to go including the halyard fish line. The rigging should be off the shelf, e.g., winches, halyards, sheets, staysail, stay, etc., none of which our boat has. At the time I felt spending $10K was not worth the gain unless we ventured off shore, whereby the staysail would provide heavy weather sail alternatives that the furling headsail does not, IMHO.
