Installed new cleat. Removed the existing rail entry piece. Cut out aluminum rail. Cut the original piece in half.

The pieces don’t align 100% given the slight curvature difference. Might be able the angle the vertical part of the rail a little better.

Was careful to only cut away enough to install the piece in existing hole
