The company is owned by Phil Herring and Bly Berken, both dedicated sailors. Since partnering in 1997 they have launched numerous marine web sites with more on the way.

Dave Groshing in customer service has sailed everything from aircraft carriers to his Catalina 22 with a dozen or so boats in between. After spending a few years cruising Mexico on a Cal 28 without an engine, he came home to Seattle and a management role with West Marine. We were fortunate to pry him away. Dave is also a very fine photographer.

Janet Millard works in customer service and sails an O'Day 22. On any given Tuesday night you'll find her and her S.O. Larry kicking some rear ends at Duck Dodge, a traditional beer can race on Lake Union.

Providing additional editorial support is Gary Wyngarden, owner of a gorgeous Nauticat 43. Gary and his wife Catherine are new liveaboards with plans to cruise the west coast and maybe beyond. Gary is frequently published in Sail magazine and regional sailing publications.
