How the boat is used Weekends and longer

Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1997
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Absolutely, without hesitation. We feel the 37.5 is an excellent off shore cruiser. We plan on retiring in 18 months, going to Mexico, Carrib. This boat is ideal for 2 people to handle and with the deep fin, she goes to weather extrmeely well. Lots of room for prov. as well as scuba gear, an excellent boat, strong and very capable cruiser.
Gear that's been added Below deck AutoNav auto pilot, windless, 1750W inverter, and currently installing a PUR watermaker. We added a s/s hand rail at the steps for safety off shore. It was an excellent addition with the open stairway and galley exposure.
Structural or complex improvements Not so far. We will have the boat tuned and rigging checked next year when we pull her out.
The boat's best features Sailing ability, deep fin keel, space, accomadations, ability to sail with two people.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. So far, nothing with the boat itself, Our Adler Barbour refrigertion has been replaced twice and that is the only problem we have had. There does seem to be alot of stress cracks on the transom and walk through, windows and hatches are crazing with what little sun we have in Oregon. No leaks, a very dry boat. The latches on the cabinets have had to be repalced on several cabinets.
Sailing characterisitcs We sail in mostly Northwesterly in Oregon and on the coast between Astoria and Puget Sound area. Alot of waves in the straits of Juan de Fuca, green water over the bow several times, no leaks.Downwind sailing she holds very true and we fly an Asymm spnni alot of the time.We do have boom break we use in the Ocean and this helps tremendously with down wind sailing. She seems to be very fast, as we have outsailed the 40.5's here on the Columbia many times.
Motoring characterisitcs Vibration in the shaft, a little rough and noisy. We motor about 2500 RPM's with a hull spead of 5.8-6.0 easily and comfortably. We have alot of current here, so we are always fighting that aspect of motoring.
Liveability Excellent . . . . . . . . .We have spent up to 14 days on the boat. She is very comfortable to live on and we have had another couple with us many times. Good space for eating, sleeping and the cockpit is adequate.I wish our boat had the
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Overall pretty good. We do not deal with our local dealer here, I always go direct ot Hunter for advice, parts, etc.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any We have purchased two Hunters from Seattle, Wa then sailed them to Portland. I would purchase another Hunter from Ray Rutledge in Seattle again. The Signature Yachts is excellent and Ray is a man of integrity. A very positive experience in all areas.
