The boat's best features The boats sailing characteristics and living aboard comforts
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Not sure about the solar panel and its location. Seems to be shadowed by the boom and mainsail a lot. The boat was billed as a cruiser by Hunter, but the design makes adding an autopilot with enough power very difficult. The head has an odd configuration. You are pumping uphill and that presents a problem. Seems the only answer is to put in an electric head which seems to be an expensive fix for a design flaw. Having some trouble fixing the propane stove, but hope to get that resolved soon.
Sailing characterisitcs We have sailed in 20+ knots and the boat handles the wind very well. Reefing early seems to be the key and having a head sail that does not over power the boat in heavy weather helps.
Motoring characterisitcs We have a 3 blade prop and love it. I know there is some drag, but the handling is great!
Liveability This is the most comfortable boat we have ever had. We anchor out more often than not and love the comfort and layout of the boat. We added memory foam mattresses to both berths and will never go back to anything else. The size and comfort of the cockpit is perfect for us. I love to cook on the boat and the galley and fridge are perfect size for any cook! We can take our dogs sailing, dinghy to shore for a walk and shower them off before they board the boat with warm water!
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Usually getting someone to answer the phone.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
