Review of the Hunter 37.5 by Roy

Year built 1995
Location of boat Plattsburgh,NY
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2007
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes no question.
Gear that's been added Replavced an outdated loran with a Garmin GPS.
Structural or complex improvements Replaced metal holding tank with a plastic one.
The boat's best features Easy to sail. Likes to be reefed early, but points well and when reefed exhibits no weather helm. Very comfortable below with ample room cruising with up to 4 adults. Best boat for the money under 40'.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Lifeline stantions are poorly designed and split where lower lifeline passes through them due to water intrusion in freezing temps. Metal holding tank is an accident waiting to happen.
Sailing characterisitcs
Motoring characterisitcs Slight prop walk in reverse as to be expected. Large rudder seems to help in correcting this.
Liveability Very very comfortable coastal cruising or live aboard for 2 people. Week long cruising with 4 adults is easily done without feeling too cramped.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Replaced holding tank and Hunter was helpful in supplying specs to have a new one built.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Purchased boat from Tidewater Marina in Havre de Grace Maryland. Very helpful dealer with a "can do " attitude. Would not hesitate o deal with them again.
Other comments I have owned several boats in the past. The quality of construction and value for price is excellent.
