Review of the Hunter 216 by Jeff

Year built 2003
Location of boat seattle
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in Seat
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes, I think so, it is a good boat and lots of fun and very fast. it is just big enough to bring my 4 year old for a day sail and not worry. yet small enough that I can take it out myself and have a blast. I look forward to fitting the cabin with some comfort features. I hope they find a solution to the leaky roof (where the mast enters the cabin)
Gear that's been added not yet, looking for additional sails when available
Structural or complex improvements no
The boat's best features quality of build is very good, seems built to last, everything is simple and functional
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. the trailer is not a great .
Sailing characterisitcs tracks great upwind, the rudder system is top of the line. you would have to try pretty hard to tip it over. it just stalls and pivots.
Motoring characterisitcs I have a small 3.3. hp, works fine, no problems.
Liveability
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any no problems with the dealer, they seem to have a good relationship with hunter
