Review of the Hunter 37.5 by Larry Marshall

Year built 1987
Location of boat Salem, Ma.
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? we only used our newly purchased boat for 6-8 weeks. it was purchased late August.
Gear that's been added gear recently purchased. wind speed instrument, autopilot. shipmate lng oven.
Structural or complex improvements none yet
The boat's best features space and a great sailing boat.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. two forward keel boats were replaced because they were made of soft steel not stainless
Sailing characterisitcs the boat sails great. we will develop better habits thru experience. our sail trim can always stand improvement
Motoring characterisitcs again we have a small amount of experience. the boat handles well under power.
Liveability comfortable and spacious
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) our experience with Hunter in Newburyport has not been the best
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any the broker in Kittery Maine was Grey & Grey and the experience was unsatisifactory.
Other comments the slant on the side of the hull allows water to collect in the portholes. when they are opened from inside water leaks in. design seems to be problem.
